Chris Carter's book Science and Psychic Phenomena (previously called Parapsychology and the Skeptics) has just been released. It has the same content than his Parapsychology book plus some clarifications and new additions regarding skeptics like Richard Dawkins.
In my opinion, Carter's book is one of its kind, because in contrast with other books on parapsychology and psi research, Carter exposes and refutes the philosophical assumptions and pressupositions underlying the dogmatic position of professional "skeptics" of psi.
Evidence alone doesn't suffice to refute skeptics; you need to make explicit their materialistic philosophy (implicit in the skeptic's argumentation) and give it a proper scientific and philosophical refutation.
Carter's book provides the anti-dote against organized skepticism (i.e. pseudoskepticism).
